Coverage: Global Time Attack Super Lap Battle
The Global Time Attack Super Lap Battle is an event that tends to evade our calendars. Although we religiously follow time attack racing and have a few friends competing every year, we fail to attend due to work constraints. This year, with Fujita-san of Garage Saurus interested in attending, we requested a day off our jobs and buckled up at 5:00A.M. to make the drive out to Buttonwillow Raceway Park. While we could go see these cars at a parking lot meet, car show, or in a shop, we were excited to see them at wide open throttle and we...
Shop Hangouts: Dustin Gets HKS Racing Suction Intakes
First off- apologies for the lack of blog posts lately. We've been swamped with a few projects in which we'll eagerly announce in the next few months. Amongst it all we're still wrenching on Skylines though! Most recently, Lerry lent a hand to Dustin on an intake install. If you're not familiar with Dustin, make sure to check out his YouTube channel. He's a car enthusiast that bleeds gasoline and alongside his current builds (a monster Evo and beast of a WRX) is his most recent acquisition; a black pearl metallic R32 GTR from Toprank Motorworks. It all started...
GARAGE SAURUS Build Spotlight - Part 1: The 700hp R33 GTR
For all things, knowledge and experience comes as time goes by. Time changes circumstances and automotive performance is no exception to the rule. Motorsport and automotive fashions trend, and in most cases what once was pertinent information becomes outdated. Most brands rise and fall within their industry, yet there are instances in which a brand has overcome the test of time. Looking back; my waking moments consisted of me being glued to my computer screen and magazines to watch and read about legendary Japanese workshops. Top Secret, MCR, JUN, Powerhouse Amuse, and Mine’s were among the long list of tuning...
Vancouver to SoCal: Driving an R32 Down the West Coast
A few decades ago, road trips were common occurrences. Before airfares got cheap, and when we were broke (we're still broke), jumping into the car and driving a great distance towards our destination was the way we traveled. Lerry's (@spaceh1ppo) car was recently shipped up to Vancouver for some inspection and maintenance work at Garage Saurus. While it would have been easier on our sleeping patterns to organize shipment back, he and I took the opportunity to fly up to spend some quality time with the Canadian family. I touched down at Vancouver International Airport at 1:00am Friday morning. Lerry...
SoCal's Skyline Heaven: International Vehicle Importer's Open House
If you're in the market for a Skyline and you're a resident of Southern California, chances are you've heard of International Vehicle Importers. The team at IVI are the ultimate gurus of bringing in vehicles from afar. Although there are more and more people figuring out how to bring Skylines into the United States these days- these are the guys with the most experience. They do it the right way, and they're the name we say when asked for a recommendation. This past Sunday, they invited us to the Open House event at their Cypress office, a new location that...
